OLIVIA'S SUMMER HOURS
Tuesday - Saturday 12:00pm-8:00pm
Olivia was born in South Africa and moved to Canada, at the age of 8, in 1991. Olivia has loved art since as long as she could remember. Painting with acrylics was her favourite medium. She attended George Brown College for Graphic Design and Sheridan College for Art Fundamentals, but did not pursue a career in Graphic Design as this is not where her heart was. By the age of 29, Olivia decided to Google "how to make money off painting pictures" since she mostly just painted as a hobby and gave her paintings away to family and friends. Sure enough, tattooing came up in her Google search. She found herself an apprenticeship in Port Credit Mississauga. Once she completed her apprenticeship, she found a job in Hamilton and stayed there for a few months until she made the big decision to move to Fort McMurray with her amazingly supportive husband to gain more experience in tattooing. After 3 months of getting there, she found out she was 3 months pregnant, but that didn't stop her. It pushed her to work harder. They stayed in Alberta for 2.5 years before they made the decision to come back home to their families. Upon returning to Ontario, Olivia worked in Hamilton for 2.5 years and then made the decision, with the support of her incredible husband, to open a shop in Oakville where she grew up. Olivia opened The Golden Pearl in November of 2018.
Olivia loves to tattoo most styles, but is mostly known for her black and grey realism and blackwork.
